CARIAD Automotive Software Campus inaugurated in Berlin

The grand opening was attended by Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Volkswagen Group Executive Board, and Peter Bosch, Chairman of the CARIAD Executive Board, alongside Julia Klöckner, President of the German Bundestag; Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA); and Ralf Wintergerst, President of the digital industry association Bitkom.

In the immediate vicinity of Berlin Central Station, the new “Europacity” district has been developed, comprising residential, commercial and retail spaces. One of the highlights is the Volkswagen Group’s Automotive Software Campus, which was opened by CARIAD in June 2026.

CARIAD is redesigning its office spaces for 1,000 employees: moving away from traditional structures towards flexible new working environments. The aim of the interior architecture and workplace design by Eller + Eller Architects for the VW CARIAD headquarters is to create an activity-based working concept that puts the user at the centre and enables a wide range of working scenarios. Individual offices and enclosed rooms are giving way to team areas. Thanks to the flex-desk principle, the spaces offer diverse and varied working options. A holistic design approach transforms a uniform corporate environment into attractive, individual spaces tailored to the requirements and needs of CARIAD employees.
