After a welcome by Ruth Schagemann, President of the Architects’ Council of Europe and Managing Director of the BAK Liaison Office in Brussels, Dr. Philipp Steden, Head of the National and International Economic Policy Division at the German Federal Chamber of Architects, and Melanie Läge, NAX Project Coordinator, guided the participants through the programme.
Various speakers gave keynote speeches on the main topic of the day “Sustainability and EU taxonomy in architecture and construction. There was intensive discussion about achieving the EU’s ambitious climate targets and what contributions the construction industry should make here. And how can EU taxonomy and the ESG criteria influence the shift towards ecological and sustainable design and construction.
A lively exchange took place on “building type E”. This is a new approach to sustainable, resource-efficient and cost-effective planning, which is to be anchored in the building code.
